First Lady Emine Erdoğan sent a video message to the events to be held by the United Nations (UN), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Türkiye’s permanent representatives’ offices, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and foreign missions on the occasion of March 30 International Day for Zero Waste.

Underscoring in her message that the Zero Waste movement unites people of every group under its roof by offering personal and active volunteering means regarding environment, First Lady Erdoğan noted: “Acknowledgement of the necessity of the responsible usage of every resource we consume lies at the heart of the Zero Waste approach. We have to make conscious choices everyday concerning the products we buy and the materials we use, and bring our habits, choices and production processes into harmony with the nature. I as the Chair of the Advisory Board of Eminent Persons on Zero Waste believe that a waste-free and sustainable life awareness will be one of the most beautiful legacies we can bequeath to future generations.”
